Admissions Criteria
The following prerequisite chart should be referenced when applying for Tech to determine a student’s eligibility. Additional recommendations are listed and shift to ensure applicants remain on track with their core graduation requirements. All applications will be reviewed for attendance and to determine if the student can work safely and independently in their chosen program.Some programs have extra criteria to meet in addition to those listed below. Visit the programs page of our website to learn more about the prerequisites for individual programs. A 2.0 GPA and an attendance rate of 90 % or above is recommended as a measurement of academic success.
I'm in 10th grade and I want to attend Tech as a junior.
You can apply for any of our junior level programs to start the following school year.
When you apply by the priority deadline, you must be on track to earn the following credits by the end of your first semester:
- A minimum of 7 total credits
- 5 of your credits must be in core classes
- 1 of your credits must be in English/Communication Arts
When the program begins your junior year, to remain on track for graduation you should have:
- A minimum of12.5 total credits
- At least 9.5 of your credits should be in core classes
- At least 2 of your credits should be in English/Communication Arts
I'm in 11th grade and I want to attend Tech next Fall.
Limited space is sometimes available for seniors. Ask your admissions representative if there are openings.
When you apply by the priority deadline, you must be on track to earn the following credits by the end of your first semester:
- A minimum of 12.5 total credits
- 9.5 of your credits must be in core classes
- 2 of your credits must be in English/Communication Arts
When the program begins your junior year, to remain on track for graduation you should have:
- A minimum of 17 total credits
- At least 11 of your credits must be in core classes
- At least 2.5 of your credits must be in English/Communication Arts
